Suddenly you’re faced with a semester bill and the stress keeps on building up and up until you’re faced with one choice: pay. If you can’t pay out of pocket, or if the government doesn’t give you enough financial aid (which happens to be my dilemma) the only other option seems to be to take out a private loan through a company like Wells Fargo or Sallie Mae, which brings on other issues like finding a cosigner. It’s either that or beg for money from friends, family, and even strangers. Crazy idea right? Wrong.
Using websites like GoFundMe you actually do have the option to set out and campaign for your tuition. For just a small percentage of your funding and about 10 minutes of your time you can set up a project to potentially bring in thousands of dollars for your education! Seems ridiculously easy doesn’t it? It really is that simple. However, there is no guarantee that you will find kind strangers to donate to your cause. Your project could turn into a total bust if you don’t network and put yourself “out there” onto the world wide web. In all honesty though, what do you have to lose? You can only gain, and hopefully gain a lot, by putting out one simple Facebook post to share your efforts.
So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to share my GoFundMe here and hopefully be able to raise some money for my spring semester! If you’re feeling kind and generous today or want to put a few bucks towards saving the world through genetic engineering (totally possible if you ask me) just follow the link below and donate whatever you can. Think of it as an investment. I’ll update later with the results of my endeavor! If you have ever tried to fund a project online comment below and share your experience.
